ABS-CBNnews.com AND COCONUTS MEDIA SIGN CONTENT PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

ABS-CBNnews.com has signed a two-year content partnership agreement with local city website network Coconuts Media (http://www.coconuts.co).

With the partnership, ABS-CBNnews.com and Coconuts.co will be exchanging news, feature, and video content on their respective websites.

“We want to give news consumers a variety of choices in our content offerings on ABS-CBNNews.com. Through our partnership with Coconuts Manila, our digital audience would have an additional source of stories from Southeast Asia. We’re also excited to share our own brand of reporting, including our multimedia and other digital specials with the diverse audience of Coconuts Manila,” says Ging Reyes, head of ABS-CBN Integrated News.

“We’re thrilled to partner with ABS-CBN, the leading media organization in the Philippines. We look forward to adding to ABS-CBN’s regional coverage of Southeast Asia, and we are keen to spread the network’s original reports amongst our audience of three million readers,” says Coconuts Media founder and managing director Byron Perry.

ABS-CBNnews.com is the digital news arm of ABS-CBN Corporation, the largest media company in the Philippines. With 3.5 million daily page views and 1.3 million average daily users, it is the leading news website in the Philippines.

Coconuts currently reaches over 3 million monthly unique visitors on Coconuts.co. Its coverage of breaking news stories have been picked up by Yahoo!, Wall Street Journal, Time, CNN, BBC, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, and The Atlantic.

Coconuts Media also produces videos as Coconuts TV, with an average 20,000 to 30,000 views per video on its official YouTube partner channel.

Under the agreement, ABS-CBN News Online will publish local and regional content from Coconuts.co  and broadcast Coconuts TV videos, such as the Manila food series Carinderia Crawl, on its YouTube channel.

Coconuts.co will publish breaking news, regional stories, and other reports from ABS-CBNnews.com on its website.

The Kapamilya network hopes to tap into Coconuts.co’s network to report on regional stories to its readers, whileCoconuts.co aims to reach out to more local netizens.
